Country Local Government Fund
The State Government announced funding of $500 million over the years 2008-09 – 2012-13 to assist country local governments build and maintain community infrastructure.

Local governments in the
nine regions defined by the
Regional Development Commissions Act 1993 are eligible for funding.
Funding is being provided direct to local governments to provide and renew infrastructure. Local governments receiving funding are required to meet reporting requirements.
The fund is being managed in conjunction with other funding programs and local governments are being encouraged to consider the potential for leveraging funds from other sources.
The fund will:
- address infrastructure requirements
- improve asset management and capacity building
- encourage standardised asset management practices and improved regional governance in local government.
