Regional Grants Scheme

The Regional Grants Scheme is an initiative of Royalties for Regions that aims to improve economic and community infrastructure and services in regional Western Australia.

On 20 October 2009 Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls announced $45 million to support the second round of the Regional Grants Scheme as part of Royalties for Regions. View the Media statement.

The grants are to fund projects that assist in attracting investment and increasing jobs or help to improve the quality of life in the regions.

More than 320 projects received funding in the first round of grants in 2008-09. View the media statement.

The scheme is administered by the State’s nine Regional Development Commissions with support from the Department of Regional Development and Lands. To find your Regional Development Commission click here.

The funding is provided to assist infrastructure, services and community projects, including the provision of headworks, and to assist in the broad development of the community. This includes the establishment of services and programs that will support the development of resilient communities and contribute to regional areas being vibrant and interesting places in which
to live.
